Niya L. Davis was born on November 1, 1983 in Washingtonian DC. She is the 3rd youngest of 9 siblings. She graduated from North Carolina Central University with a BA in Mass Communication. During her college years Niya was a model, dancer and background singer. Her original goals were to go into the news media industry.
Upon returning home to DC in 2006, Niya began performing with friends at open mics at various venues. She began acting in 2008 where she was featured in a stage play about female body image. In 2010 she performed in the DC Black Theater Festival where she caught the eye of a local production head who began writing roles for her for several years.
In 2015, Niya ventured away from the stage and onto the movie set. Since then she has shot three full length feature films, Jeremy Brooks, The Negative Split, and The Best Thing. In 2016 she relocated to GA to pursue her acting on a full time basis.
Niya attributes her success thus far to raw talent, hard work and God's favor. Her goals are to increase her workload and one day produce her own projects. She is a firm believer in following your dreams.
Niya enjoys the camaraderie and lasting relationships formed through performing but most importantly she loves touching lives through the gifts God has placed within her.
